Q: What are you?
A: skeleton social is an invite-only, words-only platform made to inspire meaningful connection. It’s ad-free and the content is user-owned. Member safety and mindful moderation are amongst our top priorities. We’re a new kind of community and communication form. Safer, focused, fun. We’ve distilled the most effective features of traditional social and professional networks into a better experience.
Q: Why no video?
A: Words are the antidote.
Q: iOS and Android?
A: The app is available on Apple’s App Store. Other versions and formats may be available in the future.
Q: Why an application fee?
A: It covers our safety initiatives when onboarding members and helps keep skeleton independent. Fees cover administrative costs associated with processing applications. It’s non-refundable.
Q: Will the fee count toward my subscription?
A: Yes. If you’re accepted, it will be applied to your first month’s subscription.
Q: Can I join right now if my application is accepted?
A: We plan a wider global launch by 2026 and will begin reviewing applications in the coming months.
Q: How will I access the App?
A: If approved, you will receive a skeleton code via email to allow access to the app.
Q: How do you select members?
A: Intentionally. Your follower count will not matter. It’s not a popularity contest.
Q: Does paying a higher level application fee guarantee acceptance?
A: No. Higher levels may receive earlier review and other benefits as described on the membership levels page.
Q: What happens after I pay?
A: You will receive access to the application form. Once it’s been submitted, your application will be placed in the queue for review. Your application will be processed in sequence according to the application priority level you’ve selected.
Q: How long will it take me to complete the application?
A: It typically takes less than ten minutes to complete.
Q: What if I really want to apply but the application fee is too much for my budget?
A: We are working to align with application fee and subscription sponsor partners. For now, feel free to contact us directly.
Q: Refunds?
A: Application fees are non-refundable except for duplicate charges, confirmed fraud, or where required by law.
Q: Which countries can apply?
A: We currently accept applications from 40 countries. Check the App Store to see if the app is available in your region.
Q: Will this be completely safe?
A: It is designed to be safer than typical multimedia-based social/professional platforms. We are committed to supporting our members to the fullest extent we are able and our safety and moderation mechanisms will be robust.
Q: Are you an algorithm?
A: We are humans and we have created this community made entirely of humans.
Q: What is applicant zero?
A: It is a way for people to connect exclusively within the skeleton social community.
